Gary Rawlins

Gary Rawlins spent 30 years at USA TODAY, retiring as editor of the International Edition in 2013. Since then, he has held several positions: editor of a Moroccan-based online magazine; personal finance contributor to Black Enterprise Magazine; grant writer for an economic development project in Brooklyn, N.Y. His experience includes writing the annual report for shareholders for Black Entertainment Television before it was acquired. Rawlins holds an MBA degree and master’s in journalism. A history buff, he has published articles in Civil War journals and occasionally conducts tours of Gettysburg National Military Park. A native of New Haven, Conn., Rawlins has lived in metropolitan Washington since 1979.
